2023 MLB Pickem Pool
-
$100 Entry Fee.
Digital payment and payout required. I will end up owing everyone dollars and cents at the end so checks/cash
just isn't viable.
I know this is a very large upfront entry fee so if you ask then I am willing to defer any payments until the end
of the pool IF you are a longtime ShanesPools player that I know I can trust to pay up.
-
All money goes towards the pot. I do not keep a percentage.
-
The money will be split as follows:
- $15 per person per month (for 6 months) divided into 6 games each month (so $2.50/game).
- $10 per person for the props pool.
-
Each participant picks who they think will win each game, straight up.
Everyone who correctly picks the winner for a particular game splits that game's pot.
-
Example: If we have 10 people, then April will have a $150 pot. If there are 6 games to pick in April then
each April game will have a $25 pot. For Boston vs New York, let's say 2 people pick New York and 8 pick Boston.
If New York wins, those 2 people split the $25 pot amongst themselves and each walks away with $12.50.
They win back their own $2.50 entry for that game plus $10.00 in profit.
- Picks for each game lock at the start of each individual game.
-
My intention is to have all Sunday night games plus other high profile games to get to 6 games each month.
All pickable games for a month will be entered prior to the start of each month.
-
At the beginning of the season you will select a bunch of season-long props. The props will be locked at the start
of the first game in the pool. The point values of the props will be based on the decimal odds for each outcome. The home run
derby will also be used as an in-season prop as part of this contest. I reserve the option to add other in-season
props that make sense (you will be given plenty of notice if that happens). The top point-getters will receive
the payouts determined below (will be determined by number of players in the pool).
- 2023 Prop Payout ($60 total)
- 2022 Prop Payout ($35 total)
- The picks standings will represent the amount of money you have made from the game picks.
- The props standings will represent the number of points you have earned from props (not additional money earned).
