Dynamic playoff scoring

2026 MLB Playoff Pool Rules

How it works
  • Each round, make picks for the upcoming playoff games.
  • Game picks combine the matchup winner and total, such as Dodgers over Phillies + Over 8.5. Each game has a base point value, and both the winning side and over/under selection must be correct.
  • Make futures picks once before the playoffs, including the World Series matchup and winner.
  • Submit series picks, including winner and length, before each playoff series round. For example: Dodgers in 6.
  • At lock time, each option is worth base points / number of users who picked that option.
  • Points accumulate across all rounds and are tracked on the standings page.
  • Game picks lock at first pitch; futures lock when the first playoff game begins; series picks lock at the start of each series round.
Base scoring

The values make difficult early futures matter without allowing one pick type to decide the entire pool.

  • World Series matchup: 400 points for the exact two teams
  • World Series winner: 300 points
  • League Championship matchup: 200 points per league (400 total)
  • Series results: Wild Card 180 each, Division Series 220 each, League Championship Series 260 each, World Series 300
  • Individual game side + total combo: 100 points per game
How the split works
  • Every pick has a base points pot.
  • When a result is final, the pot is split evenly among everyone who picked correctly.
  • If a 300-point series result is correct and 4 users got it right, each receives 75 points.
Examples
  • Game: A 100-point side + total combo split among 10 users who correctly picked both the winning team and over/under awards each 100 / 10 = 10 points.
  • Series: A League Championship Series result split between 2 correct users awards each 260 / 2 = 130 points.
  • World Series matchup: If exactly 1 user correctly picks the 400-point matchup, that user receives all the points.
